If you've landed here, you already know I am Jessica Leigh.  It also means that my work resonates with you.  I cannot tell you how happy that makes me because photography is one of the most important elements in my life - both personally and professionally.

We'll get into the importance of photography to me in a bit, but first, if you are considering inviting me into your family, life, and home for us to work together I believe it is only fair that I do the same.

I am fascinated by people and relationship dynamics.  I am an observer, yet still love getting to know new people.  I value the relationships in my life.  I live to travel and explore.

I am the oldest of three children.  I was born in New York, raised in Connecticut, but moved back to New York after graduating with a Bachelors in Sociology from the University of Connecticut.

I have been married to my husband for ten years, and we have a beautiful daughter, Emilia, who is two years old.  I can honestly say I did not understand life or love until Emilia was born.

We live in New York City.  This dynamic, splendidly chaotic, exhausting, yet exhilarating concrete jungle is my favorite place in the world.  I consider it an honor to live and work amongst my fellow New Yorkers.

I am a yoga and running addict.
I am a vegetarian.
I make it a priority to learn something every day.
I am a daredevil (my daughter has inherited this from me).
If you asked my husband, he would describe me as a neat freak.
Above all, I am a mother.  Providing my daughter with love and stability is my absolute priority which is why I limit the number of sessions I book monthly.

I have coined, "The Tribe of Motherhood" because life is hard and full of obstacles.  We need to let go of attempting to achieve perfection and embrace the anarchy and beauty we have created.  I believe that we mothers - from neighbors to across the world - need to stick together.  No more mommy shaming.  No more parent guilt.  We are doing our very best for our families, and we should be able to surround ourselves with a community focused on love, support, and security to help raise these next generations.  Because of these beliefs this why documentary family photography has become my life's work.

JESSICA LEIGH IS LOCATED IN NEW YORK CITY AND SERVES THE SURROUNDING NORTHEAST REGION.  SHE IS REGULARLY TRAVELS TO WORK ON THE WEST COAST, AND IS AVAILABLE FOR TRAVEL INTERNATIONALLY.
